Extensive Definition

A Gynaeceum (from the Greek gunaikeion) or Gynaeconitis is a house, or part therof or other building reserved exclusively for females. In other words, a women's quarters. Similar to the Persian harem. The gynaeceum is the opposite to the andron, or male quarters.
